In the city twice a week, What are some MUST DO activities

Hey, So I recently got a job that has me commuting to the city twice a week. It's only for a limited time and I want to make the most of my time there. Any idea of some "must do" activities? I'm extremely thrifty, so it has to be cheap if not free activities.

So far I've gone to Pizza Suprema, 53rd and 6th Halal, as well as attending a meetup group. What else would you native New Yorkers suggest? I'm working in Midtown, so I prefer activities that are within walking distance of there.

Check out a museum. MoMA is free on Friday evenings.

Walk up to Central Park and take a stroll.

Go to Rockefeller Center.

Walk over to the west side and see the Intrepid on the Hudson.

Try to see things outside of midtown as well...

Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. When you are on the Brooklyn side, make your way over to Brooklyn Heights and stroll along the Promenade for a nice view of Lower Manhattan. At the end of the Promenade go along Montague Street and have a meal at one of restaurants there.

Take the Roosevelt Island tram for a great view of the Eastern Skyline of Manhattan.
