I haven't posted in a while, but wanted to let everyone know that I got my apartment offer letter today. It's for a five bedroom at the Smith Houses on the Lower Eastside. For those interested, that makes 10 months on the waiting list for me so I feel like I was lucky and it went rather quickly. Does anyone know anything about this development? Any information that would be useful?

My family grew up there. Where are you coming from? It is racially mixed, if it were one particular race of any kind i'd say Hispanic, as it that's what it historically is.

I live in the Bronx right now, my apartment is extremely small and overcrowded and I hate the neighborhood. My main concern is that the area is safe and schools are ok, but with that being said it can't get much worse than where we are now. I was also wondering if anyone knew what cable/internet provider the Smith Houses use? I have to have internet installed for my job. Thanks
