Which airport would be closest by driving distance and with least traffic to the bay ridge area of brooklyn ? Newark? JFK? or La Guardia?

La Guardia has the most traffic;

JFK has moderate traffic; (depends on the time of the day)

Newark has moderate traffic (depends on the time of the day) and it is the most expensive (tolls for Verrazano Bridge, I95 and Goethal)

I think without traffic, JFK/LaGuardia is about the same, in terms of travel time.

I drive by JFK every single day. Early morning, 6-7 AM, traffic isn't so bad but there is still traffic. There is definitely traffic from JFK-->Bay Ridge every single morning. It's not the entire trip but usually starting back from the Southern State to around Erskine. Then later on, I also usually hit traffic. Sometimes it's not so bad but I would say more often than not, 3-4 PM, I'm already hitting some.

However, after 7 AM, going East (from BR--->JFK) is awful, all day.

JFK. i'll take the belt over the BQE/gowanus combo. more major "intersections" (bb tunnel, bk bridge, mn bridge, will bridge, LIE, triboro) hence higher chance of getting a bad jam up. JFK is also the closest and the quickest (slightly, IMO) if there is no traffic at all

really it's a toss up though. traffic could make either better or worse

JFK is certainly a better airport though. maybe that's the tiebreaker

I take the train.

But every time I've gone to/from LGA via car it's always been a nightmare.

Newark is the most expensive, and there are a lot of variables involved - Staten Island traffic, Jersey traffic, etc.

I'd go with the Belt to JFK.

In my experience the closest airport in driving times is Newark. But, like another poster said there are a lot of variables traffic wise and to bridge tolls make it prohibitive as far as I'm concerned.

According to Google from my apartment in Bay Ridge to LGA it's 16.1 driving miles, to JFK it's 19.8 driving miles using the Belt, of course. I've had both good and bad traffic experiences driving to both JFK and LGA. Again, a lot of variables. If I had to pick I'd still stay with JFK as probably the best bet for driving.

For public transportation it's LGA as the simplest and fastest way.

If only the N train was allowed to be extended there...

I'm in Bath Beach and found Newark the fastest, not the cheapest, but I don't care.

But depending on where you are going you might not have a choice. Personally, I would only do JFK or Newark. LGA is too far for me.

I'm surprised going through two bridge (or tunnels) to NJ is faster than a direct drive on the Belt.
