Wouldn't Spanglish be a better language to learn?

The tunnel is freaky and I have been heckled when walking in it.

Not at all, genius. lol. YOU already should be competent in English. Rosetta Stone has Spanish, not Spanglish.

That tunnel on the 1 train stop is an eyesore. Really should do something about it.

Like other's said the 1 train and the A train stops are in 2 different areas with different demographics.

West of Broadway you have the "enclave" neighborhood of Hudson Heights and east is Washington Heights. The A train stop at 190th Street is nicer and safer after dark. Plus, the 1 train at 191st has the long pedestrian tunnel which was mentioned in previous posts- one of the longest in the system it seems. It's pretty dark and creepy as is even without shady character hassling you. Plus, the A is an express line so it will get you into Midtown faster than the 1 train.

I'm not sure if you're living in the area either but live up the hill in Hudson Heights if you can afford it; it's safer and much more quiet than along/ west of Broadway. There's a grocery store and some cafes on Fort Washington Avenue and on 187th Street and you can take lunch in Fort Tyron Park until it gets too cold at least...

Neighboring Inwood (west of Broadway and north of Dyckman Street) is similar to Hudson Heights only quite as gentrified yet.

A/1 Train, mostly safe 10-7pm but not afterwards. Always punks or thugs getting on during certain hours and certain stops in the Harlem section and up. Just keep your iphone in the pocket.

Thanks everyone!

I thought I would ask in this topic so I wouldn't have to make a new one but I would also like to know if W155th street in Sugar Hill is safe to live around?
