What are some of the best planned cities in America? The cities that are green, mass transit-friendly, and has a lively downtown? Would you consider New York to be on the list? If not, why not?

Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Master-planned bedroom community 15 miles south of Denver. Light Rail access to downtown. Great views. Nearby malls and light business districts. Great schools. Amazing parks and trails. Easy access to Rocky Mountains. Red Rocks Amphitheater ten minutes away. 300 days of sunshine per year.

Why am I not there now!?

Are you asking about cities that were master-planned or cities that evolved organically and now have planning/development agencies? The two are apples and oranges.

I think Portland, Oregon is a perfect example of Urban planning.
