I went to the one in DC. My husband likes them so he's gone to a few and he says the bags are still greasy but not like the one we had in DC.

Not to get off topic, but for me it takes one bad experience for me to write a place off. I had a really bad experience with Quiznos in FL many years ago--over 10 years. I have yet to step foot in another and eat their food again.

This and Chipotle are the only fast food we treat ourselves to. Great service, beer and wine, great burgers and fries...shakes and custards to boot.

Yea, a WINNER. We go to the Westbury location, it's busy but never a zoo, you can always fine a seat and it's always super clean.

I just remembered there's a Burger Bite not too far from me. Has anyone tried it? We went a few times--tasty burgers and they're made to order so sometimes there's a bit of a wait, which I don't mind. They're not really cheap but not too overpriced either.

I had Shake shack only once 2 years ago. Shakes were good and burgers were decent comfort food. Not a place I frequent though.

Could be. The restaurant was in airport (I was on business travel) but I don't remember which one. It may have been Louisville KY. Never tried the ones here though.

I love Shake Shack. I like the fact that they have a lot of options on the menu, from wine, to hot dogs, to chocolate bars. One thing I'm not too fond of are their fries. Love Five Guys too. I feel Five Guys fries are so much better. I like the simplicity of the menu. Overall, their both neck and neck to me.

I had SS twice - the second time (by the Mus of Natural Hist) it repeated on me hours later, not in a pleasant way. The first time, at BPC, was okay. Burgers are not bad.
But I prefer 5G, cause their fries are incredible. Never mind a double with fries is like 86 thousand calories.

But the most important thing for me is to be able to sit down, and enjoy some view. SS doesn't usually deliver there.

Only "fast food" joints I go to anymore are Energy Kitchen (with their low-cal sirloin burgers and BAKED fries) and Subway.

Five Guys - eh. After you eat a burger and fries from there - it feels like you have a block of granite in your stomach.

I only get the shroom burger when I go there and it is very tasty. The fries are good and less greasy then other fast food joints. I wouldn't say that the Shake Shack is amazing but rather good for what it is.

Burgers I'd rank ss first, smash second, 5 guys a distant third. 5 guys does have the best fries of the bunch though.
