I was just in the City tying to decide on best place to live and make a new start

After reading a bunch of posts about how superficial
and shallow most of the NYC women are I'm having second and
third thoughts about taking the plunge!

From what I've read on other posts picking NY city to
relocate and finding a possible meaningful relationship and
new circle of friends would be a frustrating at best experience...

I was extremely close to signing a lease on a great place on 54 and 8th
with incredible views. After reading some of the posts I'm glad I didn't
commit!

Am I wrong?

If you're that easily deterred, then I guess you did make the right choice not to commit. I really can't believe anyone would come here and read a bunch of posts from guys (anonymous stranger guys) who think all women in the city are shallow. Wow. Seriously, if all it takes is reading a bunch of anonymous posts by lonely people on an online board to throw you off, then you really are better off not taking the plunge.

Your own viewpoints and experiences is what matters not other peoples opinions. GO and discover life in the city and see what works for you.

Dude sounds like you need to figure out who YOU are and what you want from life. You can't find happiness in anyone, if you aren't happy with yourself.

No, you weren't.

You're entire post screams DOOFUS!

And shallow or not, most women with any type of self-esteem are turned off by doofs.

Sorry, it's better you stay your Catfish self in the midwest.

Now I agree with e everyone's opinion.

But now Marilyn, he didn't say he was from the mid-west.

I'm praying he isn't from the mid-west.

Where else could he be from sounding like a male SEX IN THE CITY fan?

I'm thinking this might be a troll post. Usually the only men who think all women in NYC are superficial and/or shallow are the misogynist types or the super awkward guys who would get exactly zero interest from women no matter what city they live in.

Just in case this isn't a troll post, you made your choice for the wrong reason OP.

It's funny because I've barely met shallow and "superficial" women here in NYC.. And even if I did, same would apply to just about anywhere else one chooses to live.

One "key" of having a relationship or a circle of friends (being social) is how you are as a person, and how you're approaching others.. It doesn't have to be a frustrating experience.

Yes, the ugly ones are not shallow

You can compromise in that department a little and sign up your lease, man.
