What's goin on everybody?

I am seeking some opinions regarding where I should look for a small apartment. I am contemplating accepting a position in Yonkers which will pay between $40-$45k a year.

About myself: I am single, 23, caucasian and live upstate. A part of me has always wanted to live in the city and if I accept this job in Yonkers the city is no doubt the place for me to be.

3 factors are important to me: length of commute, cost of living and social opportunities. Like everyone who moves to NYC I want to live in the best area and get the best bang for my buck.

In summary: What are some lively young neighborhoods that aren't absurdly prices and within reasonable commute to Yonkers? I appreciate your input

i might think a studio in central or N Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Woodlawn (if you can get in) or Bedford Park might be doable but it depends where in Yonkers you are working and how you are commuting

I would suggest Woodlawn. The neighborhood actually hugs Yonkers on the Northside. Goodluck.

Live in YONKERS or Westchester! Why pay the NYC Income tax? (Yes I KNOW, but the YONKERS tax is much less.)
