We went to Pepe's in New Haven. All they serve is pizza and it's made ONLY this way. No toppings. Your only option is with or without grated cheese. No mozzarella.

Next trip to CT we're going to try Sally's which is a few blocks from Pepe's. They've been rivals for many years. We want to do a comparison taste test.
Is Pepe's worth taking a train ride to get the clam pie and margarita pie there?>

I definitely know where is the best of the best pizza in NYC. Sorry guys, but I won't reveal you that place. I hate overcrowded pizzerias with that long lines. Rather I will be enjoying it alone.

As others have stated, a good old cheese slice is where it's at

My favorite pizza toppings was pepperoni or just plain when I was a kid. But my friends and I would order
Sicilian or something called stuffed pizza if we were really hungry and short on money. It's cheaper than
ordering two regular slices. Now I like plain pizza or with artichoke hearts.

I guess you don't know what the phrase "Gild a Lily" means.

You are right, and I misinterpreted your post because of it.

I remember back in the day a place called Gloria's Pizza on Main Street, Flushing.
Delicious pizza. Still remember it fondly, buying a slice after school and hanging out with friends.
Didn't matter it was always crowded and you had to eat a slice standing up.

I look at goofs with pineapple on their pizza and I think only one word: MORON!

The only thing worse than pineapple on a pizza is mayonaise on an Italian sub. If I go into a deli or sub shop and order an Italian sub or hoagie and they ask me if I want mayonaise on it I turn around and walk out.
