Oh well they can have it because I refuse to sign the emergency list

Haha on your starting salary it should be required. You'll guys learn soon enough. No harm in signing it. If you wind up being forced to work a day you don't want to, you turn it down and get thrown off the list. No harm no foul. If you can work it and you like to make money then bonus.
i have a question..
next week my group is doing a few days of mechanical broom training..
they say after that well be brought back for 2 more days and only then will we be qualified to operate the broom.
are they gonna bring us back at the first opportunity? or as needed?

You don't go back, you do to days of OJT on a route with a qualified broom operator. After that you will be qualified. Everyone gets qualified, as far as how they go about scheduling it I'm not sure. It might be right away, or you might wait a little.

Exactly. Big mistake not being on that list guys. Every little bit helps. When that phone rings and you don't want it just dont answer so you stay on the list. Always know where your name is on the list and go from there. You might make a few before you answer at the wrong time and get thrown off. Make that money, especially this time of year going into winter. You got the spring and summer to relax alil. This is money season, take it while you can.
I always thought it was better for probies to stay off the emergency list. Yea if you dont show you get kicked off but isnt it at the supers descretion to bang you also?

broom garage seems like a good way to get through probation (minus the money of course)
whats your thoughts?

I feel like the same incidents that could get you jammed up at a regular district can happen at a broom garage, AWOL, dirty on the wagon, lateness, excessive vehicle accidents etc.
Don't be a pansy tissue man. Work the truck like a man or teach at FBF. LOL
