What 8 lane highways? The highway is below street level, it doesn't divide anything.

Yes, while it technically is not a barrier, I was thinking of it more as a boundary and that in my opionion for example 5 blocks north of the highway on an Amsterdam is very different than 5 blocks South of the highway.
