No one. What I meant was that they're considered "out of fashion" because they are additional stock from say last summer or last fall or whatever.

I have a $1,400 Burberry trench coat. I make less than 100K AND live alone. I didn't consider it expensive, seeing that I'll probably wear it for the next 60 years or so. Better to buy one good one than many cheap ones.

Like many people said, a lot of people live at home, so they don't have a lot of bills and tons of disposable income. I live at home and I know I buy a LOT of stuff I know I wouldn't be able to afford if I was living on my own paying rent and utilities. I honestly don't see anything wrong with treating yourself, and if your parents are okay with you living at home, I don't see what the issue is. Besides, most young people can't really afford to live on their own in the city anyway. Also, a lot of people boost in NYC and sell designer stuff at super discounted rates, so that's how a lot of people get high end designer clothing for low prices.

I have no clue what a Moncler coat is.
And thus I have no urge to toss away a grand or two on one.

Excessive consumption of clothing is plain NUTS.

Burberry trench coats are good investment in my opinion. Unless you abuse the crap out of it, they last a lifetime. I own two personally (1 beige and 1 navy blue).

Live at 'home' or have their parents pay their rent. Many of these 'hipsters' and nouveau riche yuppies in Western Queens hardly look like they work on Wall Street and I seriously doubt the majority in Astoria or Long Island City are pulling in the six figures.. BTW, the mean or median income in ANY zip code in western queens is under $60,000 a year for a Household.

Must be nice to 'live at home and not have to pay those inconvenient expenses like rent, utilities, and property taxes.. My father gets a generous pension plus social security and pays well below market for a 2 bed rental in jackson heights queens. I could just have 'lived with my pops' and been able to 'treat myself as well as 'game the system right?
