There is really just one troll on this board I think, with a few identities.
It is compromising what was once more interesting and probably useful for many people.

It's not just non-nationals, it is people from other states - actually the bigger problem because there are so many more of them fleeing states that are not benefit-friendly. On the other hand, the failing European economy folk are a new phenomenon. Perhaps eventually they will be more numerous.
This direly needs to be dealt with in NYC and I could imagine mandating a waiting period for anyone who is not a resident. The city and state universities and colleges already do this.
I am not sure why people feel entitled to take away from the people we already have here. Look how many out-of-state people post here, "I am on welfare ...", "I have three kids and I need NYCHA...", but - "I am moving to NYC!!!!" Which is a half-decent candidate for the most expensive city in the world.
New York will need to tighten up its eligibility requirements simply in response to the fact that other states already have, and we are by default absorbing (and badly) the detritus.
I can't stress enough how often I have to go to random threads to give random reps just so I can rep you again. Bravo.
