The first, most basic piece of advice is to arrive with several thousand dollars of pocket money to see you through the first few months.

The second piece of advice is to arrive with something on your resume. If you're just out of high school, you'd better have had some sumemr job experience, whether it's as a sales clerk, in an office job, or whatever.
