its pure insanity.

you can get a bigger apt elsewhere and have a car for less than that.

but then, I'm old, so I think like that.

People in Jersey always try to drop Hoboken in the mix as if it can compare to NYC. It can't. Its small town outside of NYC.

Yeah way less poor people in Hoboken than Ridgewick. Also it's closer to Manhattan.

Way less of everything in Hoboken. Except white people, no shortage of them of there.

Start walking, lets see who gets to Soho first.

Hoboken is a really cool place man. Doesn't have the dirt and riff raff the city does, and if you are into bar hopping, it's a dream come true. Overall, a rather nice class of people.
Soho is a pretty awesome place too....but I am biased.

I'm sure it is in its own little Boston/Notre Dame like way. The OP asked about Manhattan, not Hudson County NJ. If I'm looking to move to Manhattan, I sure as hell won't have Hoboken on my radar.

I always thought of Soho as more of a shopping location than a going out location.

You don't necessarily go out in the neighborhood you live in all the time,

More like meatpacking, but you can walk to the East Village from there so you would have access to both.

Soho is incredibly expensive and you're on a budget--why are you looking there of all places?

Edit--agree with ohiogirl, it's not really a nightlife area. More high-end shopping and restaurants.
