are clubs allowed in the financial district? It would be cool if the financial district became a wild nightlife area. It is becoming more and more residential everyday as more financial institutions move to midtown. And imagine if many of those skinny streets were made for pedestrians only, you would have crowds of people club hopping/ bar hopping in an area with beautiful historic architecture with skyscrapers over head. do it. And no pesky neighborhors to annoy the party goers.

The financial district should be the the new redlight district. with drugs abound

A red light district is not the same as a nightlife area. Red light district is a ***** district. I suggest you start putting aside money from you salary and pay a trip down to Ipanema. Centaur is arguably the best brothel in the world according to critics. It consists mainly of girls from the nearby catholic college who speak good english (if that's relevant).

Soooooo on the one hand, it's becoming more and more residential, but on the other hand, there are no neighbors to annoy??

Also, what you have described is most definitely *not* a red light district.

Already have been to ipanema, it was alright. And sorry for misusing the term redlight district, I meant to say vice district.Have brothels, places to drink booze, and places to smoke pot and other things to destress. And yes the financial district is becoming more residential but these neighbors will not be as bothersome, most of these towers are mixed used with hotels on the bottom and condos and apartments up above, and the likely people to complain are those in the apartments and condos but they would not be able to hear all the ruckus going on below because they are so high above while the people in the hotels come specifically for the ruckus so wouldn't complain.

I'd love if there was an area of the city where you could go on a Friday night to just "chill", like smoke some travka, hang out with your friends, hire a couple of hookers and the cops don't bother you

The City should use Governors Island for that.

Perfect place for bothels, opium dens, donkey shows, etc. Isolated from everything else. Check IDs at the ferry terminal and ship all the Johns over there.

My thoughts? I'll be kind and say it's not a good idea. The financial district brings in tons in tax revenue. Under your idea, that district would bring in tons of heads, perverts, and drunks.

Better yet, set aside a portion of Riker's Island for that. This way they won't have to go far when they are put to bed.
