Hello everybody I will be coming to New york city on December 31, 2013 and I am going there at the last minute however I been having a difficult finding a hostel to stay at. I have tried couchsurfing but that has not been useful in my search and most people already have people staying at their apartment. I don't want to use craiglist due to the number of scams that go on there. So I have no place to sleep unfortunately however I have found a hostel to stay at on January 1, 2013 so I only need a place to rest on New Years Eve.
So does anyone have any free places or locations that are open 24/7 in either Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn?
I was thinking of either sleeping in Penn Station or Port Authority Bus Terminal. I also was thinking of JFK or LGA Airport or at any coffee shops.
Also, you could try craigslist but just don't pay anything in advance. Wait til you show up and see if the place is legit. Here is a link to craigslist vacation rentals between $10 and $50 per night. Ignore EVERYTHING that has beautiful looking pics (there are quit a few like that) because they are all scams.
