Income is imputed as 2% of savings. Period.
$600 in a bank account counts as $12 income.

I live in a lottery apartment rental. my advice is to take the money out of the account. Just leave a few hundred in the checkings account. when you are done with everything and hopefully approved for the apartment and get it, put the money back into your account

They will figure out your income. For example, when I had my interview they said I must have 3 yrs of w2s or 1099s, but I haven't filed taxed for years. They told me without those they cannot continue to process my application, so I went to some tax place and had them make some returns for me which wasn't accurate. The interviewer later in the process had me sign something giving them permission to receive my tax info(tax transcript) from the irs for the last 3yrs. As Long as your past income is in a "low income range" you'll be ok, it doesn't have to be exact but what you're currently making must be in the range. I wouldn't lie, they may not be as nice to you as they was to me

Default Housing lottery application sent to city for approval

Good morning, All. I was recently called in for an interview for a lottery apartment in Queens, and all was well regarding my documents. I have permanent disability, wheelchair user. My application is going to be sent to the city for approval. I am very curious to know what the city approval entails? Would having a nys tax debt disqualify me? I pay all my debts (grad school loans, credit cards, etc) in a timely manner. Thank you all in advance for your replies and feedback. I really appreciate it.
