My wife raves about Sarabeth's. There are 5 of those, all in Manhattan.

The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired.
Like the last time I went, they had a menu out on the tables advertising some $5 beers, so I ordered one. The bill came, and the beer showed up as $9. I asked the waiter and he said that the $5 promotion had ended a few days ago.
I couldn't get him to lower the price, even though there was clearly a menu saying the beer was $5 sitting on the table.
There's also never been more than two other parties in the place when I've gone, yet I've often had to flag down waiters to order another drink, get the check, etc...

Brunch is my favorite!! I love The Park (10th avenue between 17th and 18th). It is right across from the high line so you can take a stroll when it is warmer after brunch. The food is delicious and there is a tree in the middle of the restaurant and outdoor space that is decorated during the holidays and Halloween. I also like The Red Rooster. The food is delicious.

My fiance loves going to the boathouse in central park. Her aunt has taken her there a few times.

Benny's Burrito's has brunch ? Worth noting.
Chocolat is the worst "restaurant" that has ever opened in Manhattan.
It is only interesting to ponder how it is that they remain open.
If you were thinking of Harlem, perhaps Lido, okay if not great.

I agree. Chocolat is horrible. Suprised they are still open.
Calle Ocho is good for the drinks only.

I enjoyed Sunburnt Calf. You can also get unlimited drinks there iirc.
Calle Ocho is only great for sangria. Expect to be skipping around Central Park with the blazing sun while you wait to sober up.

You should try these 2 for completely different reasons:
Norma's at Le Parker Meriden Midtown NORMA'S at LE PARKER MERIDIEN New York
Expensive but high end and decadent. They do not serve liquor BUT you can bring your own container of champagne and add it to the unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice for the best mimosas.
La Marina in Inwood La Marina NYC | Restaurant Bar Beach Lounge in Manhattan New York
Brunch is good but it's all about the epic, panoramic views of the Hudson river, NJ, George Washington Bridge, and Manhattan, plus there is a beach and a variety of seating options indoor and outdoor. Like a cross between St. Tropez and Miami. In the evenings it is a place to be seen.

Get a whole foods hamper and try to find some green area somewhere that isn't smeared with dog crap. (The second part may be quite a challenge).
