So tonight will be the coldest in 2 decades and tomorrow will be super cold. All this is due to the Polar Vortex. Jet Blue has canceled its flights in the NYC and alternate side street parking is suspended tomorrow. So how is this super cold tonight and tomorrow going to effect you versus what you would normally do on a cold winter day/night in NYC?

I will be at work. Will dress warmly and continue on like normal. I and many remember frighteningly cold temps back in the day when winter was non-stop grey skies and icy temps day after day with no 40-50 degree reprieves. I t felt like it lasted a whole year and was really dreary.

How is tonight going to be the coldest day in 2 decades, when it was colder on saturday? Tonight is forecasted to be 10 degrees, while Saturday got down to 7.

For the Midwest and some parts of the South it will be their coldest.

I really hope they salted the roads well because after today's warmup, I'm nervous about driving to work tonight. Yesterday morning was fun---tried to walk outside and sidewalks everywhere were just covered in sheets of ice so I walked in the street. I'm thinking it will be the same tomorrow.

Really cold as of 30 minutes ago. Wear gloves and dress warm. Hands were numb after 10 minutes after walking outside . Forgot the gloves this morning!

Global warming has to do with the gradual change in average temperatures over the course of decades, not individual anecdotal instances.

The winter of 1993-94 was very brutal as I remember. There was snow and ice on the ground from before Thanksgiving through St. Patrick's Day.

This is coldest it has been since 1994.

CBS and NBC are reporting that there is only local subway service right now. They also are reporting 7-8 degrees F with the wind-chill factor of -12 degrees F.
