Just saw a news story about Gray's Papaya on 8th St & 6th ave closing. Is this true? They better not replace it with a Walgreens or Bank of America. Another example of NYC losing it's soul, block by block.

It's alright, there's nothing unique about Grey Pappaya anymore other than the low price.

Wow if so that is tragic. They have to keep at least original around as a landmark. This city is becoming so corny...

Sad to see it go, now only the Gray's on the UWS remains. Maybe they left suddenly due to a rental increase? A local landmark in its own right, the Village is changing quite a bit now.
