I'm heading in tomorrow with a bunch of teens for a meet and greet with some internet/youtube guy. If I'm going to be in Brooklyn, I want to get some good, non-suburban pizza. I want the real deal, not some hipster shop, not some trendy joint.
We'll be walking around, so not too far off Atlantic, and as I am unfamiliar with the area, please no jaunts through areas which might be questionable from a safety perspective.
Thanks!

I go to Luigi pizza on dekalb every now and then. It's a hike from the LIRR, but less than a mile. Not a boring walk.

The immediate area around the arena is still in development stage. Depending on where you are coming from I would stop somewhere else and then continue on to the arena on the train. One possibility is in downtown Brooklyn on Court Street near Barnes and Noble there a place like you describe called MY Little Pizzeria. Very near Atlantic and then you can get back on the train 2-3-4-5 at Borough Hall and go onto Atlantic. It is a small local place so if you are coming with a lot of suburban teens let me know so I can avoid the place while you are there. I am in the neighborhood
