I guess the troll spray didn't work...he might have built up an immunity from years and years of troll spray.
I am more worried about the number of troll attacks occurring in the NYC city-data forum. I think they are up 30% since DeBlasio took office...most of them seem to be red-state trolls infiltrating our site and executing random attacks on threads and towards members. I think Bratton will be holding a press conference later this week about it.....if they can't get the big jump in troll attacks back down, the NYC forum might see people leaving for other suburban forums. We can't live like this!
The red-state trolls want us to adopt their ccw laws since - you know - their cities are crime-free utopias, such as St. Louis, New Orleans, Birmingham... oh wait... nevermind
The suspect, according to the description circulated on January 27, is a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately six feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing black jeans and a black jacket at the time of the assault.
The NYPD reports that the suspect fled the scene in a gray, four-door Nissan that had Mississippi license plate number KAT397.
According to morning local NYC news suspect was arrested last night in Queens. He was charged with second degree assault.

On Wednesday the New York City Police Department arrested a 24-year-old Queens resident named Leighton Jennings for the January 17 beating of Randy Gener, an openly gay 45-year-old journalist, on Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Details of a Facebook profile that appears to belong to Jennings—including his name, date of birth, and physical description—match those provided to Gawker by an NYPD arraignment officer.
The Daily News has an update on the story today and the injured journalist was not exactly an innocent party. It started with a bumping incident with Jennings' girlfriend bumping into Gener who bumped her back. She threw her purse at him and missed and then Gener kicked the girl in the chest. Then Jennings got out of his car and Gener kicked him in the stomach and that's when Jennings punched Gener. That account is from the prosecutor. Sounds like self defense to me.
I can't find the link on the DN website but it's on page 18 of today's paper. It's a very small story buried in the paper unlike the initial coverage of what sounded like a sweet man getting nearly killed just for being gay.

So yes. So basically Gener, a drunk got bumped into. The girlfriend may have been drunk too. A situation escalated. There were likely WORDS given.
So the boyfriend PUNCHES Gener and unfortunately he hits the pavement. The fact that he was so drunk may have been a factor.
It's a sad thing this happened, but this is NO KNOCKOUT and this is NO HATE CRIME.
It looks like Gener needs to give up drinking.
With that said, Jennings isn't a thug.
The news that has come out now should serve as a warning to everyone. As Wendy Williams says, there's at least three sides to every story. Don't rush to conclusions and DON'T try to capitalize on racial fears or things like the knockout game.
