I remember this skell. How he got off with probation after the crimes he committed and the damage he caused is beyond me. I wonder if he kept himself out of trouble.
I don't even live on the Rock anymore but know the answer to that question. Don't you read the Advance? *LOL*
I'll never understand the whole mindset of outside people worrying about SI at all. Who cares? I've never been concerned with what any other borough has. I don't live there. Who gives a rats behind what people in other boroughs think? As Bugsy said, this island has my family, friends, and pretty much everything else I need on it. This is a childish argument which unfortunately will always continue amongst the fickle people who find personal value based on their location of residence.
I dont think people hate it. Its more an issue of nobody caring about S.I. Theres literally nothing there that justifies a $14 toll. I cant think of 1 thing that I need or want to travel to staten island for.
Well now, I'll speak for myself. I absolutely hate it.
It feels like you're really in NJ if you are a driver from NYC or Long Island, by the time you pay that big toll to get there. It is an island borough of NYC but in its own world away from the city. I don't know what it is like taking the ferry there, if it is feels more connected to the city that way or not.
This is absolutely correct. There are 3 Mercedes SUVs, 2 BMW SUVs, 6 Lexus SUVs and a couple of Audi sedans park on my block alone.
A girl I went out with wouldn't talk to me anymore because I had a Chrysler at the time. She had downgraded from a Benz (who owned Chrysler lolz) to a BMW herself but wouldn't dare mingle with someone like myself. Image and status is everything in SI.
And The Bronx is Westchester, except dangerous and filled with bad minority neighborhoods. I have no desire to go there, except for the zoo. I'm not a Yankee fan.
SI has a great mall, parks everywhere, great views of the statue for free via the ferry, and soon to be a big outlet mall by the ferry.
It also has the Fresh Kills Landfill and Great Kills as a open air heroin market.

1) Fresh Kills is a park now and nobody lives in the West Shore anyway.
2) Great Kills is one SS neighborhood. Huguenot/Woodrow Eltingville, Tottenville, Prince's Bay, plenty of nice neighborhoods in the SS. You'll find drugs anywhere in NYC.
