Well then advise you to either expand your travel base beyond North Shore or even just pick up a copy of the Advance/read SI LIVE. You've nearly the exact same things from busts to ODs, to people wandering around stoned out of their heads on both sides of SI.

And yes I agree with you about there being nothing to do here lol. But I feel like the only places to do something in the city would be in Manhattan and Brooklyn, there's nothing to do in the Bronx and Queens either, unless you're into baseball - then there's the Yankees and Mets stadiums lol. But yes there is nothing to do here if I'm gonna be honest, I spend most of my time in Manhattan.
NOTHING TO DO in Queens? Really?

I'll name a few things then you tell me if there's really nothing.

Tons of restaurants in neighborhoods like Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Flushing.
Plenty of movie theaters to choose from including and old school indie theater in Kew Gardens.
Shopping at Queens Center Mall (if you're into that stuff)
Bars
Live Music
Rockaway Beach!
Tennis at Flushing Meadow (home of Arthur Ashe Stadium)
Public Parks such Astoria Park with amazing views of the Triboro
Exploring different Architecture throughout the borough

Not good enough?

Enough with the borough bashing. Lets just get along as ONE city. :

OK. There's an opioid/drug problem all over the island. That doesn't make it an enticing place to live or visit.

Does Staten Island have any single family, detached homes? Most of what I see there are townhouses or duplexes ...

Where to begin?
I'll go with Tottenville. Nice, suburban safe neighborhood.

I more meant the wacky question.

Staten Island is almost all single family-detached homes. I remember reading once that it is the boro with the highest percentage of single family detached housing stock.

The person who asked the question is probably cruising real estate sites with a low threshold. Very few of the Staten Island-haters who constantly post here:

A) have any Staten Island experience

B) could even hope to afford a detached home here.
