I'm not against expanding the slot barn @ Aqueduct into a real casino. I just don't want to let that preclude the development of a Manhattan casino.

Queens has a lot of Asians. In casinos in general, you'll notice a disproportionally high number of Asians.
It is also very close to JFK, which because of what it is, already has many nearby hotels. Plus, for the people traveling to Midtown on business, another place they tend to frequent is the airport. You can pretty much take the AirTrain right there.
It is more of a central location than Coney Island. It'll be an easy trip from Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island. And Long Island has a larger market than Staten Island.
And for those that want to discuss the mafias role in gambling, you have Ozone Park and Howard Beach right there so can't make it any easier for them.
Once people get their heads around the concept of having casinos in NYS, the need to run through another amendment to remove the cap on the number of them. It was stupid to put that in in the first place.
You never know, people did go there to see the Pope in the '90s.
15 years ago, who would have thought they would hold the MTV VMA awards in Downtown Brooklyn (Barclay's)? Jay Z is a small investor in Barclay's and his name was heavily used to get major acts there. Barbara Streisand, a Brooklyn native, for the FIRST time performed in Brooklyn at Barclay's.
Going forward in the future as Resorts World markets itself to tourists, all they have to do is pay some major acts to come out to Ozone and advertise it. Its right next to JFK, so especially once hotels are expanded in the area it will do fin.

And of the Beatles four NYC concerts two were in Manhattan (Carnegie Hall and Paramount Theater) and two were in Queens (Shea Stadium and West Side Tennis Stadium in Forest Hills). So if performers didn't have an issue having their venues located in Queens in the past, not sure why they would object to it now.

The Beatles didn't know where Queens was and when they heard the word QUEEN they were off to the races.
