threebills #270...Did you call HR at all? They've been known to passover a # or two...they should call AS HIGH as 300..... with that "1 in 3" rule, Ya know.
Do we need to wear a suite for final processing or can we dress casual but look presentable??? What's allowed and not allowed??
Checked every piece of paperwork I have saved and I saw nothing talking about attire. Comfy casual should be the way to go- unlike the PD - suits all the way.

Welcome.....I think what's happening here is this. They called extra people for reserve. Not all the guys called up to 804 will make the August class. It's sad but seems likely.....As far as a fall class, I wouldn't know. But it would seem kind of silly for them to have a class in August, and then a fall class. Why not just hire more now? I hope they do have more classes in 08'. We all worked hard to get here, and we all deserve it, so good luck!
Just a little something to say here......I don't know how many points they add for Veterans credit, but it seems like Dems and Joe8 got a few questions wrong.....If so, they still deserve to be where they are. I think Veterans should get at least that from the city! So God bless you guys,,,,,

i know a few guys at FBF....the max they can take is 125 for each class..so they could take an extra 25 in each class if they needed it....again hiring is based on the department's needs...people in other garages tell me they have enough guys as it is
Guys, just a tip I picked up from a police friend...you might want to copy that 20 page booklet and fill out one and then you can have another one handy in case you really mess the first one up and just replace a page as needed.
Then after you're done, copy the booklet you're going to submit for your records in case something comes up in the future from DCAS and you have something you can refer to.
