hi, ive read through almost all this thread, i too took the sanitation exam. I just want to say thank you to all who is on this forum, since it has answered many of my questions. My list number is 4581, and i cant wait to be called for my physical, i want to job so much.

Keep that positive attitude,keep that desire fenix881. There are people in here who don't wan't us to get hired(list #'sover 4,000+). Don't let them keep you down. Fortunately there are quality people like RETIRED SANMAN and others who knows what they are taking about. They say haters make the best motivators. I used to get mad,but the best revenge is to get on the job so they can shut up.
Turkey Tuesday said there is no unity in DSNY,well there is also no unity among the list numbers as well. That is the way it is.
Very well then,sooooo when is the next class for Sanmen going to be since according to you there is no hiring freeze?
Before the July and august class the Department was over aprox 500 sanmen everyday.And with the new hires they are at that same level again. It's not a good time to retire. If there was a freeze you would not have any hires in a fiscal year. You still have time till snow plow starts. Have a lil patience your time will come, I know there are anxieties and you and everyone else would love to get on. It will come.
Are they hireing as well as they did in the past, NO! But take into consideration times are turbulent fiscaly and well they cant afford to spend as well as they have in the past.
