I've been using an old cell phone purchased at metro pcs because I really appreciate paying a flat $40 for their service, and nothing more. However, I believe they now allow you to use any unlocked phone of your choice, so I would like to purchase a used, but in good condition iPhone. I don't really care what year or model iPhone it is, just as long as it is in good working condition, and under $200. I don't mind buying the phone either in person or online. Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! I get a little nervous when it comes to eBay sometimes. Any more suggestions greatly appreciated.
Don't do ebay--- go online and search for resold iphones--- there are some companies that are offering them and their knowledge will be clear from one reading of the website. Like this
Myself and others have purchased phones from eBay sellers without problems. You just have to vet the seller carefully and always pay with a major credit card via PayPal.
First and foremost you want to make sure any phone's IMEI number is "clean" or good. If this number is bad, locked, or has other problems most legit carriers wont' touch it with a barge pole.
Only problem one runs into even with NIB phones is that the SIM card is invalid. That could mean while someone didn't use the thing per se they somehow used the card's number. No big thing as SIM cards are cheap.
