I didn't see him take credit for it. Hopefully he won't fire Bratton the way Rudi did if he thinks he's getting too much attention.

I'm not surprised the murder rate is down, however I am surprised the overall crime rate is down. My understanding of Bratton's policing style is that you're supposed to crack down on all offenses, early and often. So I would have expected a surge in "crime" as more cases are pursued.

It's no more ridiculous(and it is ridiculous) than the press blaming him for the supposed increase in crime after 1 month in office, not to mention the lunatic fringe on here harping about how the city was going down the tubes because of the same supposed increase in crime.

Don't poor people in crime-ridden neighborhoods also live constantly in fear? But they're not conservative.

What would you expect from someone who didn't live in the city for a decade? At least he's trying to get a first-hand view of what ordinary people experience.

I attribute the drop in crimes to the appointment of Dear Leader's Great Spouse Chirlaine McCray to her important position.

Just you wait and see. De Blasio will be the greatest mayor since La Guardia.

I'm hoping for even BETTER. (La Guardia was a homophobe.)

Its not the only cold one - but I don't remember a winter with so many separate snowstorms and so many days of continuous below freezing temps in 20 years.
People have been hibernating.
