All the complaints about academic rigor are imperialist and racist. A question like what is the area of a circle with radius 2.11 will OBVIOUSLY have a different answer depending on the socioeconomic circumstances of the person taking the test. To insist on only one correct answer is the way that White Males privilege Establishment learning in order to put down people of color and the LGBT and progressive segments of society.

I do not disagree with such fair plays.

Well, the Ivies have their multibillion dollar endowments still, so its not like they've been harmed.

With that being said, where are all the Asian American CEOs, politicians, etc? Having good grades is great, but there are certainly a lot of other factors involved in a successful career.

I think the reasons for the increase in illegitimacy aren't necessarily identical for each race, but there are some common contributing factors. One of the biggest contributors, I think, is that when the government noticed the increase in illegitimacy in the 1960s, they decided that they'd solve the problem of illegitimacy by subsidizing it. Of course, when you subsidize something you get more of it.
Illegitimacy has grown higher among whites these days. Basically, marriage is more for middle class people. Among the poorest people relationships tend to be a lot more unstable. The number one reason for divorce is financial reasons.

Lowering the standard can only help so much. Go ask if NASA or Google, or a top investment bank if they're willing to lower their standards. At the end of the day, the product of our education system would need to not only compete with kids from different parts of the country, but increasingly talents from abroad who go to the top graduate programs in this country. There's not as much racial bias in the graduate programs since most Americans schools have plenty of seats to spare and foreign students pay full tuition all upfront ($$>all other motives)

You know I've always felt that they should just increase the number of those specialized schools. If you create a few more in each borough, guess what the Brooklyn Asian kid who scored high enough to get into Bronx Science probably won't go and will just go to one in closer proximity in Brooklyn and because of the larger amount of schools and how they are spread out around the five boroughs that might create more racial diversification. However, one down side of this is that all the non-specialize schools would get worst from this massive brain drain and there might be more b**tching and whining. But at least the demographic stats might not look as lopsided as they do now. Another option would be to just undo all the de-zoning of the high schools that was done over the past 15 years. That way you go to school with your neighbors and there's no prestige in that so hopefully no more whining about how my little Jimmy the genius is more deserving than Bruce who just studies all day long because Asians should just all go home.

Exactly where's the affirmative action there?

Males who come from poor (non Asian) backgrounds are doing poorly, regardless of race.
The jobs that pay well generally have some sort of barrier to entry. Basically to earn any comfortable amount of money, especially in a major city you have to be well above the average candidate for that job.

"A co-worker, also black, “said the exam is built to exclude blacks because it’s heavy on math, and black people can’t do math,” Mrs. Miller said.

I wonder what is going through the heads of these students if they have people telling them things like this.

Doing well in politics and business has to do with other skills not really taught in schools. You have to be good at social networking in a very political way.

Where are they in the Fortune 1,000? There have been two Asian American governors recently in Louisiana and South Carolina. (Both of Indian descent). There's also an underrepresentation of Asian Americans in the media.
