NYC needs 5 hurricane Sandys and 5 9 11s to shed plenty of people. A good number of them out of town Yuppies.

Wasn't NYC pretty awesome in a lot of ways even when there was affordable living for the middle class?
I'm going to say it still is. My current roommate and I are looking to move from the NJ into the city starting May 1st.
Is it more expensive for both of us? Yes.
Is it worth it? Yes.
Both of us are still young and not in any position to even think about things like marraige or kids so might as well live the city life while we still can.
IE. I dropped my keys down the elevator shaft today and my building wanted $200 to fetch it.
And learning that lesson cost you $200. Make spares and let a friend or family member keep a set, and if you dont have friends or family members, keep the spare at your job.

When they go to fix the elevator they will give it to me...whenever that is.
