Please, do you actually believe for one second that these folks aren't getting their jobs back? You about to learn a very important lesson about messing with unions.
And the drivers will realize they may be pushing the envelope a bit too.
Local UPS driver/deliveryman was "let go" several months ago for some reason, his union fought back and the guy was reinstated after a few weeks.
Long story short just because UPS "fires" a driver it does not mean it is permanent, as they have a very strong union. Worse comes to the worse the *members* could shut UPS down or at least make life very difficult.
Shutting the business down that feeds you. What a great relationship there is between management and labor.
Perhaps, but it is the main weapon in the arsenal of unions to get at employers. NYS workers covered by the Taylor laws cannot strike and thus pretty much have to accept what the state or local governments dish out.

I don't see the gov't employees hurting much with the union all the council members and mayor in their back pocket.
Disgusting. UPS got *horrible* publicity the last time their workers struck in the late '90s--the story was nationwide news. Have they learned nothing?
This is why most companies prefer FedEx even if they are mroe expensive.
