The B42 is very short. I could easily walk the whole route. I'm guessing it runs extremely frequently. How could it not?

What about the Q50 that runs from Flushing Queens to Co-Op City in the Bronx.

That or the Q53, which is at least 15 miles.

I'm always in Canarsie and see it all the time. I would say on a slow day probably 2 buses. On rush hour time probably 4. I'm only guessing.

Unfortunately, the MTA is slow to change. If they merged it with the B100, you'd have one nice, solid route through Marine Park, instead of two less frequent routes.

Definitely.

Back when I used to live in Brooklyn, that ride from Brighton Beach to Bay Ridge used to take forever. Maybe it's the fact that I've grown an affinity to buses since I moved to Staten Island, but it seemed to move quicker.

But yeah, it's a pretty long route (thinking about it, the B4 & B9 in that general area are probably around the same length). Though the other routes I mentioned seem a lot longer (even if in reality, they're not too much longer), because they cut through all of central Brooklyn, instead of just staying in the southwest corner.

I guess the b2 is useful since it takes you to the b/q lines much quicker then the b9 would from KP.

I wasn't shocked when the MTA made the b2 stop running 24 hours though. I also notice that the b7 is pretty long but is damn near empty it's whole route. I'm guessing the blame goes to kings hwy looking like suburbia.

Although suburb like Queens has the highest bus ridership in the city.

Probably because the lack of trains. Only lines running in southeast queens and northeast queens are basically LIRR service.

Of all the people I know who live in queens, every single one of them use the bus once they get off the train.

Brooklyn on the other hand doesn't necessarily have to be like that since there are a good portion of trains that run through it.

True. A lot of the queens bus trips are much shorter likely. Plus queens has riders coming from the east (Nassau) whereas brooklyn hits water (with some from SI).

May not be the longest, but the Q44 was my favorite.
