Absolutely. I'd say the majority here are descendants of someone who emigrated or migrated or, or are immigrants / migrants themselves.

I would say that immigrants mix in nicely as there are plenty of foreign-born NYers.

It isn't that Immigrants aren't welcome here, it becomes a problem when people from other countries come here with absolutely nothing to offer us.

No, we don't need a family of 5 coming here and going on welfare and getting free medical and food stamps, while I have to work 40 hours to support this. Don't do us any favors.

Yes, I have a big problem with immigrants that come here and don't work. My ancestors all came from Greece and got jobs and worked hard, they didn't go on welfare, live in public house and get food stamps. Please!

Moderator cut: Stereotyping

But it is our fault here in America, we say, come here, have as many kids as you want and we will pay you. We will even give you a three bedroom subsidised apt since you have boys and girls....It should be, you want subsidised apartment, you get a one bedroom, and it is up to you to make it work.

so no, I don't welcome immigrants anymore. To me, in my mind, the majority, not all, are nothing more that a bunch of leech sucking people that suck America dry, and us American born citizens get crap in return.

My great grandparents came to this country as immigrants, worked hard, became citizens, and loyal Americans. Many of us in America, and NYC in particular, welcome this type of immigration.

Come to this country illegally and just take advantage of our services and benefits? Then I would not welcome you.

NYC is immigrant. 40% foreign-born. (This is often considered an under-estimate, real figures are more likely 50% immigrant). Another 20% are the immediate descendants of immigrants (second generation immigrants).
Its not really a valid question. So 6 out of 10 are immigrants of children thereof. Then another 2 out of 10 come from other parts of the US, not NYC-born. That's the nature of the place.

Half of NYC is immigrants, and much of the other half has just been in the States a generation or two.

Yes, NYC is very welcoming to immigrants, to answer your question.

A problem people tend to have with immigrants is that they sometimes come from poor areas/circumstances of their own country and therefore are not educated and/or they have bad or unclean habits. So naturally if you see a bunch of people from one single country who spit and throw trash on a street and make it unlivable, people are going to be upset and lump all immigrants together.

On the other hand, there are plenty of uneducated Americans who behave the same way.
