http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/03/nyregion/boy-dies-brooklyn-stabbing-boulevard-housing-project.html?_r=0

From the article:

"On Sunday evening, Mikayla Capers, 7, and Prince Joshua Avitto, 6, who was known as P.J., craved something cold and sweet after playing outside in the sun. As they entered the cramped, dimly lit elevator in the Boulevard Houses just before 6 p.m., a 22-second ride away from the Icees in the freezer, the killer was just behind them.

In that metal box, he plunged a black-handled 8-inch kitchen knife again and again. P.J. was mortally wounded. Mikayla stumbled out, screaming, before collapsing as the man fled past her."

"Children. on The Way to Get Ice Cream, Stabbed in Elevator"

Children on their way to get ice cream stabbed in elevator, police say - CNN.com

From the article:

"Police described the man as a "heavy set" black male, approximately 6 feet tall, between ages 25 and 35, and last seen wearing a gray shirt. He stabbed a 6-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl inside an elevator in their apartment building in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn and fled, police said.

Prince Joshua "PJ" Avitto, 6, was stabbed in the torso and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The girl was also stabbed in the torso and remains in critical condition, according to police.

New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said Monday that the two children were on their way to get ice cream when they were stabbed.

"The amount of violence we saw in an unusual weekend reinforces the need for an energized police department," Bratton said. "We cannot have a city where two ... children going to get an ice cream are stabbed, one killed and the other fighting for her life. That is not the City of New York that we want to police."

This behavior is unacceptable.

When this man is caught, and he will be, he needs the electric chair now, not ten years from today, now.

This is absolutely one of the most hideous types of crimes to be committed.
2 innocent children, I could cry as I type this.

There are no words to describe this.

simply unacceptable!

They think the same person stabbed another young woman to death a few days ago in the same neighborhood.Obviously a total lunatic.

Sounds like a mental issue, hope he's apprehended before doing any further harm

As long as the police don't stop and frisk people who look like him while searching the area. That would be unacceptable.
