All that and it has nowhere near the murder rate of Brownsville. And yes, there are nice restaurants there and nice places to eat.

You know very well the majority of the city's shooting are in the worst parts of Brooklyn, and to a lesser degree the worst parts of the Bronx.

Who disputed that? I just simply said don't count out Southside Williamsburg and Spanish Harlem shouldn't be on that list. Within the last 5 years or so both of its precincts have ranked up a good number of shootings or murders. Just because it's been calm this year, so far, doesn't mean it shouldn't have that hood status anymore.

Neither precinct is anywhere near Brownsville or ENY in terms of shootings, and haven't ever been this century.

And you know very well what I meant when I posted Williamsburg. The real Williamsburg and it definitely belongs on the list I made. There is no South Williamsburg or Southside Williamsburg. That nonsense is brokers pimping out Bedstuy. Just like there was no such thing as East Williamsburg until the brokers decide to pimp out Bushwick as East Williamsburg.

Nice restaurants is enough for many New Yorkers (NYC) to overlook any of the ghastly sights and sounds and horrible happenings (shootings for examples) of NYC.

"Did you hear about that gang that is slashing people's faces in NYC?"

"Yeah, I did. But every city has that sort of stuff." (Somehow this makes it excusable and acceptable or tolerable.) "Don't pay attention to any of that negative stuff about NYC. We have tons of different restaurants here."

I actually agree with this. Some of the restaurants here are fantastic.

I always thought south of Grand st was the Southside and north of it the Northside. With south of Division being South Williamsburg (where the Jews are and the section that was part of the original Brooklyn rather than Bushwick). And the area past Graham being East Williamsburg.

The area he's referencing, with the housing projects and all is Bedstuy.

The area around Graham is Bushwick.

I think he is talking about the southside of Williamsburg. Where the streets are S1, S2, S3, etc...rather than N1, N2, N3, etc... I don't think he was referring to south of Flushing ave.

I think Graham is still Williamsburg. Maybe east of that (and south of Grand st) can be considered as Bushwick, and even that is debatable. Anything in 11237 I consider as Bushwick though, or maybe even the Brooklyn part of Ridgewood.
