So I found some apartments on the upper west side for 1,395. Are these too good to be true?

I know an agent whom works for that company and she tells me that most of those listings are borderline bogus (expired and/or rented very long ago). It's your typical broker bait and switch. Window dressing to get you to call if you will.

Not all the listings are misleading, I'm sure, but find a broker (whom will charge an obscenely expensive fee) that is familiar with your target neighborhood and work with him or her.

Two are the same apartment...and I just love how they call the pullman kitchen an 'open kitchen.' Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear!!!!

$1395 is actually a pretty fair price (not incredibly low) for a small studio that has no view and looks to a brick wall of the next building. Believe it or not, you can get a NICE studio with a decent view in Manhattan below 96th street for well under $2000.

No, $1395 is VERY cheap for Manhattan. Unless it's in a cruddy neighborhood.

Look at those studios. Except for the first one, they look pretty crappy (and very small). $1395 is not a very low price for something like that in Manhattan. I have seen VERY NICE studios for $1700-2000 in nice areas of Manhattan. 6 months ago I saw a decent (but VERY small) studio in the EAST 50's (!!!) for $1295.
