Hi everyone! I am about to move to NYC this fall and have almost decided on an apt located in The Helena which is located on the 57th and 11th. It seems like a safe area in the daytime. Could anyone tell me if that area is safe at night? I will work in Lincoln Center and have to walk home sometimes past midnight. Is it going to be a problem since its close to the Amsterdam Housing right behind Lincoln Center?
I would walk down Columbus avenue then make a right in order to go to 11th avenue. You'll avoid Amsterdam housing. In the daytime you can use amsterdam if you want.
Very safe. The nearby projects are very quiet, not even dangerous to live in let alone walk by.
