What about all the images in the "New York Pics" thread? Seems permission should be granted by the photographer in order for those images to be posted here. I would think that, without permission, either posters should only post photos they have taken themselves, get permission and credit the photographer appropriately, or there should just be links.

Posting photos and giving a link where you found them is permitted already. Posting photos and not giving the source and the link is not.
