Hello Everyone,

My name is David, My wife and I have been renting in downtown JC for over 1 year.
We are looking to purchase our first home. Budget is $400 - $425K (2 beds, 1 bath).

Having a real struggle in where to start because my parents are from Freehold (south NJ) and yes we would get a really nice house big backyard and etc. But the commuting to and from into NYC would be almost 3 hours a day(door to door).

The pricing in Jersey city Downtown is really expensive and does not give us the option to grow if we decide to start a family.

I am writing in hopes of any advice in towns or locations where a married young couple may look into while commuting into NYC is bearable.

Thank you for reading.

David

You are asking the universal question: "Where can I buy a large home at a low price with outdoor space within a short commute to Manhattan."

The answer is usually "you cannot."
