A lot of downtown residents near WTC sold their homes for cheap and moved elsewhere in panic. At that time, it must have seemed to be near the end of the world for some of them... Now that the area has been rebuilt, I wonder if many of them regretted and even moved back (they'd have to pay much higher price for a home than when they left, obviously).

I would have to say probably not due to the fact that it was a very traumatic experience it's not something most would want to relive.

Those who are very patriotic and resilient may never have left as a way to take a stand against those who are enemies of the United States.

The greatest asset we Americans have is both spirit and resilience, as long as that can never be broken then those terrorist bastards don't stand a chance.

Acquaintance moved to Australia...he was a Maitre 'd at Windows on the World who switched shifts.
No, he didn't move back, and he says he will never set foot in the USA again.

Seems a sensible response.
