I would prefer not to go to the Seaport just because I fear it will be super packed! I'm thinking East River Park on the Lower East Side. Anyone ever watched them from there?

I was also looking around for a rooftop bar on the LES thats not super expensive...but I know thats a big longshot! But any suggestions would be welcome!

I'm not planning to hang around the spot all day...my friends and I are gonna grab dinner/drinks on the LES and walk over to the park, or where ever we watch from shortly before the fireworks start and just stand where we can.

Where is the Northernmost firing barge stationed?

edit:
Well it seems that there are NO northernmost barges and if you cannot get near Downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, or atop a skyscraper, it might be the pits.

So I guess it will be TV for me because no way am I camping out for 4 hours to get a viewing spot.
And who knows, the fireworks might have to share center stage with Hurricane Arthur?

How about Gracie Park/Carl Shurz Park? Does that sound viable? But not very big.

I was thinking Gantry State Park in Long Island City might be decent.
