NYCHA and the DeBlasio administration just announced that they have set aside funds to crack down on violent crime in 15 NYCHA developments. I know one of the projects that they're aiming at is Jefferson in East Harlem. There is currently a 'tower of power' along with paddy wagons officers, light towers and patrol cars on and around the grounds. They ain't playin.'

Thanks for this. I read that shortly after it was released. I believe it's low-key more than that because as I said before, there currently is a heavy police presence in Jefferson

Let's see what kind of job they do and how effective it is. But it is necessary. Just because people are poor does not mean they should be terrorized by criminals. The community itself needs to have zero tolerance for this and they need to work with cops. Maybe the de Blasio administrations less antagonistic approach can enable stakeholders including the community to come together and crack down on violence and crime.
