I’m sitting in queens at the DEP pool, hoping all those people here are ahead of me, because who wants to work in queens. If they actually call me for an interview I might tell them that I plan to extend my family in a near future and ask about their maternity leave policy
I know some people are looking for an office in Queens. For maternal leave, the policy is the same citywide, so doesn’t matter which agency you go to, you will likely get the same answer.

I’m fully aware, but this may lead them to believe I plan on going, therefore making me not very appealing

It depends where you live. As for me, working in Queens is a life-changer! We get our own parking, plus I don't have to take public transportation...and.. let me tell you... I HATE public transportation! I guess..whatever floats your boat, right?. If you don't want to get a job without making yourself look bad professionally, that's the way to do it,

Heh
DEP in Queens is actually almost walking distance away for me, and if they called me up first I'd be happy. However today was my first actual workday at ACS (orientation yesterday). And after ten years of driving, commuting on a bus is surprisingly nice.

There were maybe two people out of like 12 who showed up who wanted a job there. I heard it’s a nice place to work, but it’s a two hour commute for me. Ana was the same for the people there. Ironically the two people who actually do live there and wanted it, they didn’t hire.
I went. They interviewed everyone. But two jobs in queens and one in a city that involved a lot of hot line phone time. Did not like the environment there, and the whole process felt a bit shady. I don’t know if they hired because they were calling people by names to get up and telling them and they went right out.
