Id bet that many people go to Arthur Ave for an authentic meal as opposed to just for pizza. Id love to try that hole in the wall pizzeria Pugsley Pizza (behind the Midas Muffler shop off Fordham Rd). it looks so homestyle
My favorite is Full Moon, but I always get the same thing (eggplant ), so couldn't talk about their plain slice. My second favorite place is Katonah Pizza in Woodlawn. I think the owner is Albanian rather than Italian, but the pizza is really good.
The best pizza in the bronx and new york whole is John & Joe’s Pizzeria Lydig Ave near the 2 train. This is the old school pizza slices from the 70's with good amount of cheese and dough. I highly recomend this joint. John & Joe's Pizzeria - Pelham Gardens - Bronx, NY | Yelp

I agree,it's really good.Going in there is like walking into a time machine.Lucky for me it's only a few blocks away. Love sitting in the window and watching the scene on Lydig too.

Castle Hill Avenue right off the cross Bronx expressway there is a pizzeria that serves large slices. On my way I like Giovanni pizzeria. Also some good good pizza at St Annes and 149th Street. Beyond that I really can't say. All I know knows avoid the dollar pizza place and avoid over priced tourist trap and artisinal hippie pizza.
Oh yeah the slices are really big in castle Hill. This is the only place that I have seen that they sell these humongous slices. You should check it out.
I also Like Giovannis - I grew up having their pizza on the location on 167th st somettime had the stuffed pizza omg deelish and I've eaten from their Fordham location and its also good- Also, i like this place by pelham bay train stop I always forget their name something Villa but the pizza has always been nice thin and crisp yum yum! LOL
