MOD's Sorry if this is in the wrong spot I don't post here often.
I am considering a move to new york in the future.
for the simple fact of not having to Own a Vehicle.
NOTE: I am from Michigan and have Never been to NY in my life!
ANYWAY My MAIN Questions are:
1.) I Know New York is NOT Cheap!
So; How much money should I have in my Bank Account to begin with.
1a.) How much money should I budget each month for Cab and Subway Fares?
Remember to ADD in...
One-(1) Extra Just for Fun Night Out Sight Seeing
Trip a month for each month Since I am new and will want to see the sites.
2.) What is the Cheapest I'll Probably be able to Sub-let a Place with somebody Per./Month.?
3.) How much would I Need to Support my self for One-(1) Year in the Big Apple.
Keep in mind: I am on Food Stamps so for the most part Groceries are covered.
P.S. Please any insight at all would be a great Help!!!
4.) Since I am a Man Where are most of the High-end Male Clothing Stores is the Men's Department Mainly Uptown or Downtown?

NYC is not the same as NY state. The question are you thinking of moving to NYC or NY state? Also what is your monthly rent budget?

If this Helps:
This is How I planned my First Year in New York City....
At my Budget I'm thinking the Bronx is my ONLY option.
Rent I Based on Living with somebody and them not really needing
the money but an offer to help with the Monthly Bills.
I would also help with the daily chores doing dishes; vacuuming cleaning the place etc.
if they so Desired I am Not Lazy.
Rent for 1-Year at $555.00 a./Month ======= $6,660.00
Groceries for 1-Year at $250.00 a./Month ==== $3000
Subway Fares for 1-Year at $112.00 a./Month =$1344.00
Toys & Fun Money for 1 Year at $1000.00 a./Month $12,000.00
.................................................. .....Grand Total $23,004.00
.............................................(Planned on Having $30,000 available Before the Move Currently saving.)

You want to move to NYC just so you don't have to drive? There are tons of cities in the US where you don't need a car. NYC is probably one of the most expensive. Look at other cities like Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis.
Some clarification on the prices you wrote out above.
What about utilities (phone, electricity, gas, etc)?
For rent, you will have to pay a deposit and possibly last months rent upfront.
What about eating out?

Work on spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
Ultimately, this could only benefit your "finacial" situation.
Guessing that the OP is around age eleven. Twelve ?
