I recently move to the area, and there are no quality supermarkets or any other good retailers in the neighborhood. They build all this high-rise building but no supermarket for people who live there. I will not be ordering freshdirect all the time.

I don't live there, but I agree with you. Why build all of those yuppie towers and no real supermarket? I thought maybe I wasn't seeing it, but you're confirming that's true. There is that one natural market close to the pulaski bridge. But that's it huh?

The Food Bazaar at 42-02 Northern Blvd, Long Island City, is enormous and quite good. However, it's not convenient for everyone who lives in LIC since LIC covers a very large area. The yuppie types in the waterfront condo area can go to Foodcellar, which is supposed to be like a Whole Foods knock-off.

I live in LIC (in a multi-family home, not high rise) and walk 10 minutes to grocery shop at the Trade Fair on 36th Ave across from Ravenswood.

One of the only cons to living in such a otherwise convenient neighborhood.

This FB is more convenient from Astoria than LIC, but it is a good supermarket. Is it accessible from QB Plaza by bus?

If you like whole foods or trader joes, take the subway. Problem solved.

Shopping at any of those bursting at the seams nightmare locations and then lugging groceries out to the boroughs is an absolute nightmare.
