Not all of them work past 20~25 yrs for the same reason.
There are those that can't 'cuz they're just poor decision makers financially.
But then there are those who enjoy the structure they live in.
If you have the best "stroll routes" that do 5~7 tons, and still able to walk with your back straight without grunting...
Or you're a roro guy that drives for 4 hrs never breaking sweat, why should you ever give that up?
It's not like you can travel 365 days/yr on your pension.
You have five best weeks and two days of your choice to go on vacations.
Not to mention paid holidays, XWP, XWOP and the "sick" days.
But, yeah, it is sad and upsetting to see the former that are in great pain but can't retire.
How long was the guy in FBF working for, I think he was Spanish or Italian, short guy with the crazy anger issues, had me fearing my life when he took us for our CDL test LOL

There's no one at fbf with over twenty so they're not in the running. I don't know who took you to your cdl, it's usually Bianco
This Job couldn't have come at a great time.. I'm all set for August class (FP July 28th) which is cool as hell.. Only one problem.. I'm supposed to going on a 6 day vacation from August 20th to August 25th.. A Thursday to a Tuesday.. and I booked the vacay prior to receiving the pre employment letter.. I really want to go on this vacation but the job is more important so I'm considering canceling the trip.. But is it possible (and acceptable) for a new employee to get the time off? In my case I'll miss 4 days of class. If I show them the flight itinerary they'll see it was booked prior to them contacting me so would they let me go? Or should I just say the hell with the trip?

I didn't think you could take vacation the first month of employment but someone pointed out they could arrange it so you would use a week from next years vacation. Give it a shot. The worst they could say is no. Or postpone your class until September. You have the proof. Good luck.
No, no, and no. SI1 has about a grand total of 4 black guys but only one has his twenty though I don't think he's even top 5 in the garage.
Nope Cangiano is a big white guy with grey hair and no beard and he looks....well, like a guy who should have retired already. Hell he could retire twice and still have 9 years on the job. My parents were like 5 when he got hired. The second guy in that garage, mcnally, came on in 1980...Top guy already was in his 14th year then and people make fun of mcnally saying retire already lol
congrats on the august class superman!.. what area are you in the list ?
