I have a question about the salary... on the FAQ it states:
At completion of 6 months of employment, the salary will increase to $36,607.
At the completion of 5 ½ years of employment, a Sanitation Worker’s salary will increase to
$69,339 per year.
Does that mean mean we are stuck at $37k for 5 1/2 years until it doubles, or will it increase yearly like the other city jobs until it reaches the cap of $70k after 5 1/2 years. Sounds like it stays at $37k to me but I would like to hear what the people on the job have to say about it.
No it doesn't stay at 37 for 5 and a half years lmao.
You get a raise at 6 months, 1.5 years then 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 years
For dsny you'll eventually need, if hired, a cdl with air brakes and tanker endorsement
It's a cdl, but since I didn't take the road test it has a 18k weight limit. I had it since 2003 lol. Okay all I need is a tanker endorsement and I should be okay. Thank you.
So you're talking crap about betting people can't drive and you yourself don't have a cdl
......You people amaze me on here lol.
If any of you want to be truck drivers, go get a cdl. Otherwise wait for your list numbers
although I dont have a cdl, I have driven and can drive sanitation weight and size vehicles. I been a construction union member for over 15 plus years and have driven all types of trucks ( except tractor trailers) I brought up that question because I find it amazing how people can make fun of people because of mistakes they made( or could have made) on a test and they are not fully qualified them selves. and when I said, people cant drive I meant I bet most can not even drive a regular compact car properly but yet they will make fun of a person that made a mistake on a written test. I bet there are a bunch of sanitation workers on the job that cant drive or follow proper instructions ( but have the job)! so everyone just needs to humble them selves <--- that was my point

So basically your license is restricted to that weight limit until you complete your road test. To get it unrestricted you must use a commercial vehicle weighing more than 26,001 lbs with air brakes. If you don't use a vehicle with with more than 8 passengers that passenger endorsement you have will also be restricted (good to have just my.02). For the (N) endorsement you just need the written exam.
